SMS / Text Messaging Program
This page describes the PetCompass text messaging program. It supplements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Program name
PetCompass Guardian & Alerts
Who sends messages
Messages are sent by Astrolabe Apps on behalf of PetCompass (ProcyonPet) from an automated system. Our messaging provider is Twilio (or equivalent carrier-approved vendor).
What messages you may receive
- Guardian sign-in codes — one-time passcodes when you request “Text me a sign-in code” to access your cloud pet vault.
- Pet tag scan alerts — when someone scans your pet’s QR tag, we may text you and/or your designated emergency contact with a short alert and link, according to your settings.
- Account service notices — rare messages about tag activation, subscription billing issues, or security (not promotional marketing).
How you opt in
You opt in only when you take a clear affirmative action, such as:
- Entering your mobile number and tapping “Text me a sign-in code” in the PetCompass app; or
- Checking an SMS consent checkbox and submitting your phone number during Guardian or tag setup; or
- Texting a keyword we publish for a specific program (if offered).
We do not send marketing SMS without separate express consent.
Message frequency
Frequency varies. Most users receive only occasional sign-in codes and infrequent scan alerts. Message and data rates may apply.
How to opt out
Reply STOP to any PetCompass message. You will receive a one-time confirmation that you are unsubscribed. After STOP, we will not send further SMS except where required by law. You can opt in again through the app.

Privacy
We use your phone number and SMS interaction data only to deliver this program and operate the Service. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Supported carriers
Delivery depends on your mobile carrier. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
